Slow Processing Speed

Slow processing means that it takes a child longer to process information, instructions, make decisions and more. Everything in the child’s day becomes a challenge that can become overwhelming. In school they can lose the thread of a lesson, become discouraged and give up. Who can blame them!

They can be bright and intelligent but just can’t keep up. It can take much longer to learn anything!

Other children think they are slow. The impact on self-esteem, friendships and energy levels is significant.

Living with slow processing is very tiring, increases anxiety levels, especially if you also have low muscle tone, attention issues and other features of developmental delay. It impacts on learning and school work.
